With the successful continuation of the European Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships 2026 in Hungary, European Aquatics is delighted to confirm that Switzerland will host the European Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships 2027 from 16-19 June.
The announcement was made in-venue during the penultimate day of competition in Hungary, marking an important milestone during a successful edition of Championships with news of where Europe’s best young open water swimmers will gather next year.
The championships will bring together Europe’s most promising junior swimmers for four days of competition, taking place earlier in the calendar than this year’s edition.
European Aquatics President Antonio Silva welcomed the announcement, during which the waving of the European Aquatics flag between the host nations took place between himself, Swiss Aquatics representative Dirk Tholing and Hungarian Swimming Association President Sandor Wladar.
“The European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships are an important milestone in the development of our young athletes and continue to demonstrate the strength of open water swimming across our continent,” said Silva. “We are delighted to bring the 2027 edition to Switzerland and look forward to working closely with Swiss Aquatics to deliver an outstanding championship for all participants.”

Swiss Aquatics President Dr Ewen Cameron also expressed his federation’s pride at being selected to host the event.
“We are delighted that Switzerland has been chosen to host the 2027 European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships. It is a great honour and a responsibility for Swiss Aquatics to welcome Europe’s most talented young swimmers.
“Delivering an outstanding event is our absolute priority, and we are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participating athletes, coaches and officials.
“We look forward to welcoming all European Aquatics member federations to Switzerland and celebrating together a successful edition of the Championships.”
Further information regarding the host city, venue, competition schedule and event programme will be shared by European Aquatics in due course.
