Great Britain’s Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher took their third world championships medal as a pairing on day three of the diving programme at the World Aquatics Championships 2025 in Singapore, as their Men’s 3m Synchro effort was worthy of the bronze medal following six rounds of quality final dives.
The British duo have formed a solid partnerhip since joining forces in 2022, and the medal is their third in the event in the previous four editions of the competition.
They cruised through their opening two required dives and continued with a near-perfect streak of 70+ scoring dives and never losing grip of the medals – a score of 79.80 for their Inward 3 ½ Somersaults Tuck (407C) on the fourth round being a high point – before signing off with a score of 394.29 and yet another medal in their illustrious careers.
Ukraine’s Kirill Boliukh and Stanislav Oliferchyk put in a similarly impressive performance to finish in fourth on a score of 387.99, with Italy’s Lorenzo Marsaglia and Giovani Tocci taking fifth on 375.60.
Laugher’s world championships medal tally now stands at nine, with Harding’s three.
Speaking to World Aquatics following the pair gave an insight into what the medal means to them.
“It’s great for us.” Said Laugher “We both took a long time off this year, me especially. We’ve had a really interesting year – Anthony’s first year after an Olympic Games. Coming into that cycle, it can be a bit of a lull sometimes but I think we’ve worked through it really well. We’ve changed a lot in our lives, in a new club with a new coach, so to come out with a bronze medal today is super positive. I think it puts me in good stead for the individual later this week.”
““I definitely have struggled this year more than others, and changing clubs has been difficult.” Said Harding “But I’m really happy to have performed like that, because you want to peak for this competition. I’ve worked the whole year to be the best year and I’ve done that, so I’m really happy.”
Elsewhere in the evening, Great Britain’s Lois Toulson and Maisie Bond were the highest European finishers in the Women’s 10m Synchro final, as they put in a spirited performance and recorded a fifth-place finish.
Having recorded silver and bronze medals in the event at the 2023 and 2024 World Championships respectively with previous partner Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, Toulson paired up with bond after Spendolini-Sirieix took a hiatus from the Championships.
Still a relatively new pairing, their score of 282.54 was only eleven points off the medals, and their consistency of 60+ scores across their three optional dives was testament to the foundations the pair have built for the future.
