CENTRE AQUATIQUE OLYMPIQUE METROPOLE DU GRAND PARIS

The Olympic Aquatic Centre “Centre Aquatique Olympique Métropole du Grand Paris (CAO MGP)”, inaugurated on April 4, 2024, is the main permanent sports facility built for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Located in the heart of Plaine Saulnier district in Saint-Denis, near the Stade de France, it represents an architectural, environmental, and social achievement. Designed and delivered under the direction of the Greater Paris Metropolis, this innovative building reflects its ambition to combine sporting excellence, sustainability, and universal accessibility.

Equipped with a 70-meter modular main pool, several complementary aquatic spaces, and stands that can accommodate up to 5,000 spectators, The Olympic Aquatic Centre hosted the diving, artistic swimming, and water polo events during the Paris 2024 Games. From its inception, the facility was designed to serve both elite competition and general public: after its Olympic phase in 2024, it opened its doors as a “legacy” phase on June 2,2025, to everyone, including school groups and sports clubs.

The Olympic Aquatic Centre stands out for its energy efficiency and use of bio-based materials, illustrating the strong environmental commitments of the Greater Paris Metropolis. The CAO MGP is a key part of the Paris 2024 legacy, as will continue to shine on the international stage by hosting the European Swimming Championships in 2026.
