The official bulletin for the 23rd edition of the European Aquatics (EA) Short Course Swimming Championships, which will take place at Lublin in Poland from December 2 to 7, is now available.

The first European Aquatics Championship event to be held in Poland since 2011 – when Szczecin hosted the 15th edition – will be followed at the same Aqua Lublin venue with the EA Masters’ Short Course Championships from December 10 to 14.

In his introductory message, EA President Antonio Silva comments: “Short course competition, with its ‘splash and dash’ dynamism, is great entertainment and loved by fans and athletes alike.

“I am sure we will have an excellent support from our member federations and a fantastic atmosphere in the pool.

“Coming at the end of a year that saw amazing performances from European athletes at the World Championships in Singapore, Lublin offers an excellent opportunity for our swimmers to judge their form as they head into winter, as well as to ensure that swimming remains in the public eye, outside the traditional summer season.

“I would like to thank the Polish Swimming Federation, led by my colleague Otylia Jędrzejczak, as well as the city, regional authorities and Poland Travel for working as a great team to provide excellent facilities as well as a traditional Polish welcome for all participants.”

Jędrzejczak, President of Poland Aquatics, added:

“It is a great honour that the Polish Swimming Federation hosts the 2025 European Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Lublin.

“The organisation of this prestigious event at Aqua Lublin reflects our commitment to the development of sport and demonstrates that Poland is becoming an increasingly important host of major international competitions.

“Poland is a country with a rich sporting tradition, in which swimming holds a special place. We are confident that the championships in Lublin will provide participants with excellent conditions for competition and will be a source of unforgettable sporting experiences.”

The bulletin includes comprehensive details on transportation – involving either Warsaw or Lublin airport – race formats, training schedules, accommodation, visa requirements and event logistics.

The first deadline for preliminary entry and hotel booking forms is September 29, with 50 per cent deposit required by October 6.

The date for final hotel reservation forms is October 24.

The deadline for final travel details is November 14, and for final entries, November 22.

Training will take place at Aqua Lublin from November 29 to December 1, when the team leaders’ meeting and technical officials’ workshop will be held.

A coaches clinic will also be held, the date of which will be available soon.

A total of 220,000 euros will be awarded at the Championships, rewarding the top 12 male and top 12 female performances based on World Aquatics points.

The event will use six hotels in Lublin – Holiday Inn Express, Hampton by Hilton, Mercure Lublin, Ibis Styles, Victoria Hotel and Focus Hotel Premium.

Aqua Lublin is one of the most modern aquatics complexes in Poland and a flagship sports facility of the city. It includes a 50- meter Olympic swimming pool with a movable bottom and modern timing system, an additional 25-meter training pool, and facilities for both recreational and professional use.

Lublin, with a population of around 350,000, is the ninth largest city in Poland and the largest in eastern Poland, located about 170 km southeast of Warsaw.

With a history dating back to the 9th century, it is a vibrant academic, cultural, and economic centre of the region. The city combines the charm of a historic old town with the energy of a modern European hub.
