European Aquatics was proudly represented in Tbilisi as António José Silva and First Vice President Josip Varvodić attended a special conference hosted by Georgia’s Minister of Sport Shalva Gogoladze.

The event brought together national federations of indoor sports to exchange future plans and development strategies, highlighting the importance of cooperation and long-term collaboration across the sporting community.

Together with Dimitri Abduslishvili, President Silva presented several key topics related to the future development of aquatics in Georgia and the strengthening of cooperation with European Aquatics.

Among the main areas discussed were the alignment of Georgia’s national aquatics strategy with the wider European Aquatics strategic vision, the expansion of the Swim Safe Europe programme in schools, the development of aquatic infrastructure, and education opportunities for coaches and referees.

The discussions also covered social responsibility initiatives and the future hosting and organisation of aquatic competitions in Georgia.

The conference was additionally attended by Kakhaber Guledani, Deputy Minister of Sports Irakli Medzmariashvili, as well as representatives from sports federations and government institutions.

European Aquatics continues to strengthen its collaboration with Member Federations across Europe and looks forward to continuing its close cooperation with partners in Georgia in support of the long-term growth and development of aquatic sports.
