European Aquatics Level 1 Swimming Coaches’ Course concludes successful second edition in Malta

The second edition of the European Aquatics Level 1 Swimming Coaches’ Course concluded successfully this weekend in Malta, bringing together coaches for three days of practical learning as part of the organisation’s growing coach education programme.

Commissioned by SportMalta, the course combined online learning between April and June with an in-person programme held from 26 to 28 June, offering participants a comprehensive introduction to the knowledge and skills required to begin their coaching journey.

The Malta course follows the successful launch of the programme in Kosovo in March 2026 and marks another important step in European Aquatics’ commitment to developing qualified coaches across the continent.

Throughout the course, participants explored both theoretical and practical aspects of swimming coaching, strengthening their understanding of athlete development, coaching methodology and best practices through a combination of online education and hands-on sessions.

The strong interest and positive feedback received from participants have already led to the confirmation of a new edition of the course in Malta later this year.

Registrations for the upcoming course open on 1 July 2026. Online lessons will take place between July and October, followed by in-person sessions from 16–18 October 2026.

The Level 1 Swimming Coaches’ Course is designed for aspiring swimming coaches looking to begin their coaching pathway while developing the fundamental knowledge, practical skills and coaching philosophy needed to support athletes in a safe and effective environment.
