European Aquatics is delighted to announce the dates for its respective major championships across all disciplines, including senior and junior meets.
With the competition calendar finally set to return to normal after the disruptive COVID era, all European Aquatics events will now take their usual place in the summer months. In addition, one of the highlighted events, the European Short-Course Swimming Championships, will be staged in its traditional December slot, as will the Masters’ short-course swimming which was such a hit last year.
The hosts for all 2025 events will be confirmed shortly.
The high season of European Aquatics action starts in late May with the European Artistic Swimming Championships and the European Diving Championships. A European Open Water Swimming Championships will also be held, for the first time since 2011, when a stand-alone event was staged.
The second half of June will see European Junior events in artistic swimming, diving and open water swimming, and as it has become usual, the junior swimmers will gather in the first week of July (as they are with great success this week in Vilnius).
Before that, on 26-28 June, the second edition of the U23 Europeans in swimming will also be staged, hoping to build on the tremendous success of the inaugural championships last year in Dublin.
In the reshaped age-group system, the U16 water polo tournaments come first, in late June and early July, while the U18 boys and girls will play for the respective titles in the second half of August.
The dates below are confirmed, though European Aquatics reserve the right to adjust them in case it’s needed. At the same time, National Federations are requested to consider these priority events and should not schedule any major national meet in the same discipline for the same timeframe.
The summer’s other big non-European Aquatics event, the European Youth Olympic Festival, will take place on 20-26 July, and these dates were considered when the European Aquatics 2025 Calendar was designed.
