Ahead of the European Aquatics Congress and DEI Conference in Tbilisi, Georgia, European Aquatics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with local officials in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The agreement was signed between EA, Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, Azerbaijan Medical University and Azerbaijan Sports Academy, and was witnessed by youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov, aiming to develop several educational and social aquatic projects.

The first two initiatives related to this programme concern the Swim Safe Europe conference to be held in Baku on 28-29th November 2025 and the implementation of an SSE programme under the National sports strategy and Azerbaijan Strategy for aquatics.

In the press conference, held at the Sports Ministry, Youth & Sports Minister Farid Gayibov was present together with  Zaur Aliyev (President of ASF), Garay Garay Bayli (Rector of AMU) and Fuad Hajiyev (Rector of ASA).
